Food is always huge portions and pretty consistent. All of the waiters and waitresses we’ve had there have been super friendly, excellent and go above and beyond. Shout out to Sharon, Jason and Isabel! Recommend the bread pudding for dessert!
Great breakfast place! The flight of mimosa’s is great, but too much for one person in my opinion, and definitely not weak! However, breakfast was also a bit more comical than normal too! The food was hot, fresh, and rather quick. The waitress was pretty much running the back room by herself and did it like a champ! The menu is rather large and you should be able to find something you’d like at any meal.
Definitely the best Black Bear! From the minute we walked through the door the hostess was very welcoming. The waitress Sharon was most definitely top notch. Sharon was very friendly, made sure we had everything we needed kept checking on us and with a great attitude. Food was amazing, hot, and definitely big bear portions.
The chili was tasty and perfect and our server, Sharon to very good care of our large party of seven. Thank you!! We will be back

Me and my son recently stopped by Black Bear Diner in Vacaville for breakfast, and it was exactly what we needed peaceful, welcoming, and delicious. We were seated right away, and the atmosphere was laid-back and clean, which made it perfect for a relaxed conversation before a busy day. The staff was friendly and made us feel right at home. Our waiter was quick and attentive without hovering, and the food came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. Everything we ordered tasted great, and you could tell it was made with care. One thing I really appreciate about Black Bear Diner is how consistent they are. No matter which location we visit, we always walk away happy. This Vacaville spot is no different great food, great people, and just a comfortable place to enjoy a meal with family. Want quality at ABSOLUTELY AMAZING PRICES & SPECTACULAR PORTIONS? Well -Black Bear Diner is it! Explore their menu & order for pick up! They're certain to hit it out of the park for you. I personally talked to customers who came by for pick up & one of them said "You definitely can't go wrong ordering for pick up!" My go-to favorite is the Taco Salad and I always opt for grilled chicken. But this time I tried something new & I was happy I did. The Veggies Scramble was delicious. It was nice that it was obviously a community favorite with families enjoying their time. It felt vibrant and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Happy to see staff checking the restrooms while I was there. Do visit, bring your appetite, take a load off, and enjoy! You'll more than likely have leftovers. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels warm and welcoming—very cozy, almost like a classic mom-and-pop diner, even though it’s part of a franchise. It’s the kind of place where you can truly relax and enjoy a comforting meal. I usually order the grits, and they are always delicious. One of the things I love most about Black Bear Diner is the portion sizes—they are generous, filling, and very affordable. I almost always have leftovers to take home, which is a bonus. The food consistently hits the mark, especially if you’re craving a solid, satisfying breakfast. Our waitress, Jessica, was absolutely wonderful—charming, attentive, and genuinely kind. Even though the diner was clearly popular (we went on a weekday and it was busy), the service never felt rushed. You can tell this place is a favorite among locals. Parking is easy and plentiful, and the location is super convenient, right near the freeway. If you don’t feel like cooking, this is a great place to go. And if breakfast isn’t your thing, their 24-hour menu offers plenty of lunch and dinner options too. You really can’t go wrong here!
We stopped by Black Bear Diner for lunch after visiting Suisun City and the Western Railway Museum, and it was such a great experience. The atmosphere is super cozy and charming, with an adorable bear theme throughout—bears on the plates, curtains, decor, frames, and even in the bathroom. It really adds a fun and unique touch. We especially loved the themed booth with bear and pine tree designs, which made the whole experience feel even more immersive. Another standout detail was the menu—it’s designed like a newspaper, which is such a creative and original touch and fun to read through. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the breakfast New York steak, which was excellent. The Mediterranean vegetable soup was rich and flavorful, and the corn biscuit was just perfect. For dessert, I ordered the apple crumble with vanilla ice cream, and it was truly out of this world. They also had a jukebox playing a really cool playlist, which added to the vibe. The staff was friendly, the service was great, and there was plenty of parking available. Overall, a fantastic experience—I’d definitely come back!
